ABOUT THE ARTISTS
LIGAMENT:
Recently described as “perverse and nihilistic” by someone on Twitter, Anika Kildegaard (voice) and Will Yager (double bass) are LIGAMENT, an ensemble dedicated to commissioning new music and creating work for their unique instrumentation. LIGAMENT’s performances are a fusion of standard and non-standard elements; sometimes there are high heels and sometimes there are electric toothbrushes (and sometimes both). The duo is equally at home with extended techniques as with extra-musical elements. LIGAMENT is currently based in Baltimore/Philadelphia.
Ogni Suono:
Formed by American saxophonists Noa Even and Phil Pierick in 2010, Ogni Suono is committed to expanding and promoting repertoire for saxophone duo by commissioning and performing new works. The duo values the longevity and repeated attention to new works over the novelty and revolving door of mass commissioning. Their albums, Invisible Seams and SaxoVoce, music commissioned by the duo. Noa and Phil have toured the US, Europe, and Asia. National appearances include the Ear Taxi Festival (Chicago), Sonic Circuits (Washington, DC) Switchboard Presents (San Francisco), and nienteForte (New Orleans). The duo’s international performances include a 2019 tour through China and Taiwan, the inaugural Singapore Saxophone Symposium, Romanian-American Musical Days Festival in Sibiu (Romania), Berlin University of the Arts, Felicja Blumental Music Center in Tel Aviv, Night of the Museums Festival in Budapest, and World Saxophone Congresses in Scotland and France.
