Want to watch old home movies of Baltimore and/or filmed by Baltimoreans? Want to learn about preserving your own home movies and see them projected on the big screen? Come to Home Movie Day!!
FREE!!
Home Movie Day is a celebration of amateur films and filmmaking held annually at many local venues worldwide. Home Movie Day events provide the opportunity for individuals and families to see and share their own home movies with an audience of their community, and to see their neighbors’ in turn. It’s a chance to discover why to care about these films and to learn how best to care for them.
For questions or to submit home movies ahead of time, contact Timothy Wisniewski (twisniewski@jhmi.edu). Formats accepted: 16mm, 8mm, super 8mm, DVD, VHS, and digital video files (H.264, MOV, or AVI preferred).
You may drop off your home movies in person until October 18th, M-F 10am-5pm, at the following drop off location:
Alan Mason Chesney Medical Archives (c/o Timothy Wisniewski, Visual Materials Archivist)
Johns Hopkins University at Mt. Washington
5801 Smith Ave., Ste 235

You may also bring your home movies the day of the event. If bringing film, please allow extra time for our projectionists to inspect your film(s) prior to projecting.
